whats zone blocking? LOL
I was gonna say exactly what someone else said, Morneau himself said it was Hamilton's night. What is everybody going to remember Morneau winning or the blasts that Hamilton hit? It's not a contest, its an open and shut contest. Sure Morneau gets the trophy and he goes down as the winner, but sometimes there is a bigger winner than the actual winner. To put it into a perspective, it would kind of be like the Suckacanes winning a game versus VT, say like in 2005, but VT winning conference. Sure Miami beat VT in the game, but VT won the conference which is what people remember. In the home run derby, Morneau won the derby but Hamilton's performance is what people will remember.

That was my first Canes game I ever attended, and I sure remember it more than VT winning the conference. I remember the DEAD silence of Lane as the Canes went into the 4th leading 27-0. I still remember feeling bad and at the same time celebrating as J-Ham fell in coverage of Darnell Jenkins, ending w/Jenkins celebrating in the endzone and J-Ham on his butt.
You know what I remember better and hold in higher regard (as would almost everyone else) than VT's 2005 ACC title? Give you a hint--'83, '87, '89, '91, and 2001.
Hey--you opened that up, I walked through the door--easy thing to do when you compare the Canes to the Chokies...
All that being said--Hamilton's the story. I never said he wasn't--it's a great story. But Morneau's got the trophy so he's the champ. Our friend raider wanted to somehow twist it and say that Hamilton's the real champion and that Morneau doesn't count. That's goin a bit too far w/the sympathy/empathy for Hamilton's story.
